I've always loved Floyd and this one's been my favorite for a long long time.
Thanks M for the link to this really well made AMV on Metacafe.

    Mad World

Saw the Gears of War Trailer sometime ago on the tube, heard the song. I knew I'd heard it before, couldn't place it till a friend reminded me, the Donny Darko soundtrack.

Awesome song, check out the videos.

Been looking for a video I could link to for quite sometime. Finally got a live performance, the song is sweet and the riffing bloody awesome. One of my current favorites.

The percussion on this one's cool, not to mention Kate Beckinsale in this YouTube user compiled video using clips from "Underworld". By the way, the lyrics are interesting and open to a hundred interpretations :).

    Pulse

Long day ... hungry ... tired.
Switch on the tube ... commercial TV sucks.
PBS (KCTS) is showing a Floyd concert ...Pulse.
    Sweet.
Lights off. Porch door open. Turn on the amp, crank up the juice. The neighbours can go to hell or join me, it's all the same anyways.
The show rocks as it always has.
Durga McBroom, Claudia Fontaine and Sam Brown outdo themselves in "The Great Gig in the sky" as usual.
Only way to describe it, is a trip.
    Pulse 1995
    ....
    "Run, rabbit run.
Dig that hole, forget the sun,
And when at last the work is done
Don't sit down it's time to dig another one.
    "
    ...
Heck. Seems to be the theme of my life lately.
    ...
"Long you live and high you fly
And smiles you'll give and tears you'll cry
And all you touch and all you see
Is all your life will ever be.
    "
    ...
"And if your head explodes with dark forebodings too
I'll see you on the dark side of the moon.
    "
    ...
"I can't think of anything to say except...
    I think it's marvellous! HaHaHa!
    "
    ...
Time to hit the sack and recharge. Life is good again.

Rolling Stones: Sympathy for the Devil: Neptunes Remix

A friend pointed me to this remixed video of "Sympathy for the Devil". Sweet.

Rolling Stones: Sympathy for the Devil: Neptunes Remix
Hip-hop tastemakers the Neptunes give the Stones' seminal song a shot in the funk muscle, adding beats and rearranging the groove for a new audience.

    Indian Ocean

    Went for their concert tonight.
    One word: Awesome.
Only complaint: Freaking knee kept me from moving to the music or wandering away from a wall.
    Top 'o the list:
From the ruins, Album: Desert Rain
      Leaving Home, Album: Kandisa
Reminded me of: Jethro Tull, Pink Floyd (I'm still trying to figure out why?).

And now back to icing this screwed up joint o mine <Thank god for the preserving and healing aspects of single malt scotch>.

    Gnarls Barkley: Crazy

    To quote the song ...

"I remember when .... I lost my mind, there was something so pleasant about that place..."

    ...

"Who do you think you are ....ha ha ha ... Bless your soul ... you really think you're control ... well... I think you're crazy...just like me."

    ...

"Does that make me crazy? Does that make me crazy? .... Possibly."

    Need I say more :).

    Whitesnake: Here I Go Again

Heard this classic on the radio tonight. Waves of nostalgia. Here I go again ;)

    Whitesnake: Here I Go Again
Frontman David Coverdale watches in awe as hottie ex-wife Tawny Kitaen gets nasty on the hood of his Jaguar. In 1987, this vintage hair metal masterpiece shot straight to #1.

    Johnny Cash: Hurt

To a man who walked the line in his own way. No more words, just listen to it.

    Thanks to Ifilm.com.

    Johnny Cash: Hurt
The Man in Black chillingly interprets this Nine Inch Nails song with all the emotion and sorrow of a life lived long and hard. Incisively intercut with scenes from Cash's younger years, his current life and this rich, lonely performance.
